Cover that answers to its members, not to shareholders
Aldercrest has insured households in England and Wales since 1946. We are a mutual: the Society is owned by the people it covers, and any surplus we do not need to hold in reserve is returned to members through the annual review of premiums.
That principle has a consequence we have always been open about. A mutual can only pay what it takes in. Each year the Society reviews its book to make sure that the cover it offers remains sustainable for the membership as a whole.
